Course credit for student researchers
Lexical Categories in Linguistic Theory
Spring 2004

The first step to take if you would like to be involved in the Lexical Categories research group as a student researcher -- whether for course credit or not -- is to submit an application form. We will try to include as many student researchers as possible in the project, up to 8 or so.

If you would like to, you are welcome to apply both for one of the student researcher positions and for the research assistant job. But please note that course credit is not available if your only connection to the project is the research assistant job.

What to do if you would like course credit

If your application for a student researcher position is accepted, you will be given information about which Linguistics course and section number you may register under (for three credits).

If you submit your application by November 10, 2003, you will be notified whether or not you have been assigned to a student researcher position by approximately November 12. This will allow successful applicants time to register for credit before Early Registration ends on November 15.

If you decide not to register for credit now, or if you submit an application after November 10 and are notified of acceptance after November 15, you will have another chance to register between the reopening of registration in January and the end of the Course Add period for Spring 2004.
